2004 BMW 330cic? Good car?

I used to have a 2005 M3 convertible and it was really great and my parents have an ’05 330cic and it’s also a great car, and I found a BEAUTIFUL absolutely GORGEOUS ’04 330cic for sale for only $18, 700 that I think I’m going to buy for my brother (that lucky little sh*t is only 17 but hey I spoil him!). Is it a good car? What are the main difference between the ’04 and the ’05? I drove it and it was a little harsh and underpowered, and I actually wasn’t impressed, but the guy who I’m buying it from is having the wheels, tires and oil changed as we speak, will that make a big difference in the overall performance, like make what I experienced better? Other than that, the car is loaded, with Harmon Kardon sound system, nav, and a sick M3 body package. It’s really a great car and my bro will love it I’m sure! Thanks in advance
